(KNSI) – The city of Milaca will soon open a new archery range.

The city says the range, which is currently under construction, is situated north of the Milaca Municipal Airport along 110th Avenue. Once open, the city says the range will be free to use and will be open May through October each year from sunrise to sunset.

The range will have 18 shooting stations underneath an overhead awning, with target distances ranging between 15 and 70 yards. The range will also feature a 3D walking course with 14 different animal decoy targets. The area will also have three broadhead shooting pits.

Construction on the range is expected to wrap up on September 1st.

The City of Milaca Archery Range comes in response to the community’s keen interest in the sport, the city says. More than 130 Milaca School District students are involved in the archery program.

Though the archery will be free for the public to use, the city says donations are accepted and sponsorships are available.
