Hutchinson Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 15 Friday

(KNSI) – A Hutchinson man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 15 Friday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened shortly after 7 a.m. Friday on Highway 15 north of County Road 18 in Meeker County.

A Ford Taurus, driven by a 44-year-old Hutchinson man, was heading south on the highway when the car crossed the center line. The Taurus crashed into the trailer of a Freightliner tractor/trailer that was heading north on Highway 15.

The Taurus’ driver died in the crash. His name has not yet been released. The state patrol says he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Freightliner, 55-year-old Cary Hansen of Ames, Iowa, was not injured. The state patrol says he was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not a factor on his part.
