(KNSI) An Avon-based infrastructure and renewable energy company has been named one of Minnesota’s best places to work.

Blattner Company learned they made Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s annual list of the top places to work in the state.

Blattner Communications Director Christine Huston says they were told by the magazine a few weeks ago.

“We were definitely elated and we celebrated at least with the internal group that did know about it at the time. We were grateful for it and we certainly see it as an honor as well.”

Huston says Blattner believes that their success is done in large part to its workers.

“We think we’re a great place to work but we also have great people that do the work here. We believe it is centered on culture, also the character that’s represented by our people and the community.”

Huston says they won’t find out if they finished in first or tenth place until the August issue comes out.

The winners were based on external evaluations and employee survey results.

The company has 375 workers at its headquarters in Avon.

Blattner is a leading installer of utility-scale wind and solar renewable energy in North America.

The company is known for constructing dams, mines, bridges, and roads.

This year marks the 23rd annual Best Places to Work awards for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

The 2021 honorees will be featured in the Business Journal’s August 13 Best Places to Work special edition and online.

It’s the Twin Cities’ longest-running awards program recognizing workplaces.
