(KNSI) – Three St. Cloud Police Officers suffered minor injuries while arresting a wanted fugitive.
Officers from Saint Cloud Police Department’s Community Response Team and Waite Park Police Department members attempted to stop a 39-year-old man who had a Department of Corrections warrant for his arrest.
The man was seen leaving a home in the 1100-block of 7th Street South in Waite Park at 1:09 p.m. on Thursday.
The Waite Park man was wanted for an outstanding parole violation related to 2nd degree aggravated robbery.
During the arrest, the man resisted officers and attempted to get in a vehicle and flee.
An officer was able to stop the fugitive by tasing him.
After getting arrested, the man allegedly continued to resist and is accused of kicking an officer multiple times.
The fugitive was placed in a WRAP device to control him.
Police say during the arrest, a handgun was found.
The man is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to his prior criminal history.
The man was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for medical clearance from being tased.
He was then taken to the Stearns County Jail.
The 39-year-old is being held on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, 4th-degree assault on a peace officer, and outstanding warrants.
Three Saint Cloud officers received minor injuries during the arrest.
