(KNSI) – Two fires in two apartment buildings less than an hour apart had the St. Cloud Fire Department busy Wednesday afternoon.
According to a critical incident report from the fire department, the first fire started in a bedroom unit inside an apartment on the 1700 block of University Drive Southeast just before 12:30. The fire was contained just to that room, and no injuries were reported. The damage was estimated at $45,000, and the family who lived there was displaced.
The second fire was on the 2900 block of Maine Prarie Road. That fire started just after 1:00. Fire investigators say it was a cooking fire and that the flames were contained to the cooking vessel. One person was treated on scene and then taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Damage there is estimated at $2,000.
