(KNSI) – As four suspects are in custody for their alleged roles in one murder, another victim’s family waits for answers.
28-year-old Janesa Lashay Harris was found shot to death in her St. Cloud apartment about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 2nd. Her body was discovered by someone saying they were the property manager at the building on the 1400 block of 12th Avenue North. The Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide.
Harris’s stepmother, Breonda Alexander, tells KNSI that Harris moved to St. Cloud from Milwaukee. She says Harris was a loving, outgoing person with a very recognizable laugh. She says Harris had a good heart, which would sometimes put her in difficult positions, but she liked to help out anyway. Alexander added that even though Harris had struggles, nobody’s perfect, and Janesa did not deserve what happened to her
Alexander says Harris should still be here and added that she loved her siblings and family “unconditionally.”
Alexander says the family is having a tough time and is pleading with the public that if anyone knows anything, to come forward, saying what happened cannot go unpunished.
Investigators say the murders of Harris and Keisa Lange had “notable similarities” but they are still trying to figure out a direct connection.
A fundraising campaign has been launched to help with funeral expenses.
