(KNSI) – A 33-year-old woman, now charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Keisa Marie Lange, was already in jail for unrelated child endangerment charges when she was named as a suspect in Lange’s murder.

A criminal complaint filed in Stearns County Court June 8th says Angela Renee Jones has been charged with two counts of child endangerment, and one drug charge.

The complaint says that a call came in for a 15-month-old boy who had fallen, was unresponsive, and having difficulty breathing. The child was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital, where his urine was screened by staff. They say the child tested positive for methamphetamine and opioids.

Police executed a search warrant on the home, where they found documents confirming Jones lived there. They say the search warrant turned up suspected meth inside a backpack in an upstairs living room.

Stearns County Child Protective Services has opened an investigation.

Jones is formally charged with one count of child endangerment for allowing a child “to be placed in a situation likely to substantially harm the child’s physical, mental, or emotional health or cause the child’s death,” and one count of child endangerment for allowing drugs or drug-making materials to be sold, manufactured or possessed in the presence of a child. She is also facing one drug charge for knowingly causing or permitting a child “to inhale, be exposed to, have contact with, or ingest methamphetamine, a chemical substance or methamphetamine paraphernalia.”

Jones, 26-year-old Kenneth Carter, 23-year-old Deantae Davis, and 36-year-old Alicia Lewis have all been charged for their alleged roles in Lange’s murder.
