(KNSI) – A 12-year-old boy is dead after the ATV he was driving crashed near Monticello.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the scene on private property along 120th Street Northeast in Monticello Township around 6:40 p.m. Thursday. Deputies and emergency medical personnel found the 12-year-old driver of the ATV and started life-saving efforts. He was taken to CentraCare Emergency in Monticello where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s office says the crash is still under investigation but says the child was the only person on the ATV when it crashed.
