(KNSI) – Sauk Rapids is putting a watering ban in place effective at midnight tonight due to low water levels and drought conditions.
According to Sauk Rapids officials, no watering or irrigation will be allowed on public or private property. Tickets will be issued to violators, but there is an exemption for people who have yards with newly planted and seeded areas. Property owners who feel they qualify for a water ban exception can contact the Sauk Rapids Police Department to be issued a permit.
Sauk Rapids’ splash pad and the wading pool are also closed effective immediately and until further notice.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sartell issued a watering ban that took effect immediately.
The watering ban in Sauk Rapids will remain in effect until further notice.
