(KNSI) – Minneapolis police are investigating after three separate fatal shootings within roughly an hour of each other Saturday morning.

Minneapolis police say at 1:37, they were called to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale for a woman who had been shot in a hail of bullets in the 2200 block of North 2nd Street. The woman died shortly after she arrived at the hospital. Police say they did find a crime scene in the area where she was shot.

Eleven minutes later, police were called to a shooting near East Lake Street and Hiawatha Avenue after a person was shot there. Reports say the person had gotten out of their car to watch some street racers who had taken over the intersection. An argument allegedly broke out, and two people began shooting at each other, hitting the bystander. They were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where they died.

Just after 2:00 a.m., police say one person was shot to death near Hennepin Avenue and South 5th Street in downtown Minneapolis. A Metro Transit police officer allegedly saw the shooting and shot the suspect in the leg. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment before being booked into jail.

So far this year, more than 30 people have been murdered in Minneapolis, including two young girls who were both shot to death. Another child, 10-year-old Ladavionne Garret Junior of St. Cloud, is still fighting for his life at North Memorial Medical Center.
