(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man charged with assault after allegedly hitting a nightclub bouncer made his first court appearance Monday.
Thirty-two-year-old Kristen Kornell Kimbrought is charged with third-degree assault in Stearns County. The criminal complaint says on March 2nd, a police officer was at the Red Carpet when he heard gunshots. He then saw a bouncer whose eye was swollen. The bouncer allegedly told the officer that Kimbrought had punched him when he tried to break up a fight earlier that night. Later, the bouncer identified Kimbrought in a lineup.
Police say Kimbrought denied punching the bouncer but did say he was involved in a fight.
The criminal complaint says the bouncer suffered a severe concussion due to the injury.
