(KNSI) – Police in St. Cloud are investigating after a shots fired incident outside the Pickled Loon Saturday morning.
According to police, just after 2:00 a.m., officers were outside the Pickled Loon on West St. Germain Street doing proactive patrol when several customers came up to them saying there was a man inside with a gun. A short time later, officers say they heard approximately five gunshots in the alley behind the bar.
Investigators say there was a verbal altercation between the suspect and another person in the bar, and the suspect flashed his gun “in a threatening manner” before going outside. There, they say the man fired the gun into the air and then fled the scene.
Officers conducted a high risk traffic stop at 10th Avenue and West St. Germain Street, where they arrested a 20-year-old Sauk Rapids man. He was booked into the Stearns County jail, where he is being held on several charges, including second-degree assault and weapons violations.
KNSI does not typically name suspects until they have been formally charged.
