(KNSI) – A 24-year-old Annandale man is charged with third-degree murder after he allegedly provided drugs to a man who later died from an apparent overdose.
Police were called to a home in South Haven on March 16th, where they found the body of an adult male. According to the criminal complaint, a piece of tin foil was found on the bed next to him with a black tar-like substance on it. Police also found plastic baggies containing what was believed to be heroin and cocaine at the scene.
An autopsy revealed that the man’s death was caused by a mix of fentanyl and methamphetamine. Witnesses at the scene told investigators the victim got the drugs from Zachary Vincent Wolf. They say Wolf had a connection in the Twin Cities and would often buy heroin for people. Others at the home where Wolf lived corroborated those allegations and said that Wolf, the victim, and others went to buy drugs for the group from his supplier.
Investigators say the drugs he bought were then allegedly turned around and given to the victim, who later died.
