(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports 658 new COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths from the disease on Wednesday.
The five-county St. Cloud area sees no new deaths but adds 49 newly confirmed positive cases: four in Benton County, three in Morrison County, 15 in Sherburne County, 15 in Stearns County and 12 in Wright County.
Out of 17,546 tests processed across the state Tuesday, 3.8 percent came back positive.
Meanwhile, Minnesota keeps getting closer to having half of its total population vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose. In Minnesota, 2,749,383 people have gotten the shot. They make up 49.4 percent of the state’s entire population, and almost 62 percent of Minnesotans 16 and older.
The MDH has not yet published granular data on how many 12-to-15-year olds have gotten vaccinated. That age group became eligible for the Pfizer shot last week.
