(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 583 new COVID-19 cases and nine deaths Tuesday. It’s one of the lowest new case days since February, however, the state processed a relatively low number of COVID tests on Monday. 5.1 percent of the 11,514 tests processed on Monday came back positive.
The five-county St. Cloud area reports 67 new cases and one death: a Sherburne County resident who was in their 30s. There are eight new cases in Benton County, seven in Morrison County, 14 in Sherburne, 22 in Stearns County and 18 in Wright County.
The MDH says 481 Minnesotans are currently hospitalized for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, more than 2,667,549 people have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose. That’s 60.5 percent of Minnesotans age 16 and older. About 82 percent of those vaccine recipients are now fully vaccinated.
