(KNSI) – Stearns County is seeking volunteers to help keep parks and trails clear from litter.

The Stearns County Parks Department says volunteers are needed to help clean the trails within county parks.

With the snow gone and green grass taking over, it’s the perfect time to pick up the garbage accumulated beside the trails in parks.

Parks, where help is needed include Lake Wobegon, Quarry Park and Nature Preserve, Missippi River County Park, and Kraemer Lake-Wildwood County Park. Assistance is also required at Spring Hill County Park, Rockville County Park, Two Rivers Lake County, and Warner Lake County Park.

Volunteers will walk the trails, collect litter on and off the trails, and use tools to cut back any branches that would obstruct the paths.

A park employee will follow up by email to hand over the needed tools, training and answer any questions.
