(KNSI) – Alcohol appears to be a factor in a crash that sent a man to St. Cloud Hospital after getting pinned under an ATV.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says first responders were called to a severe ATV crash around 7:30 on Saturday night in rural Pequot Lakes.

Investigators say an Arctic Cat 500 ATV was being driven on a driveway by a 58-year-old woman when she made a sharp turn causing the machine to roll.

The Pequot Lakes woman and her 59-year-old passenger were ejected off the ATV and pinned underneath.

A person heard the crash, moved the ATV off the victims, and gave medical aid.

The woman was taken to a Brainerd hospital with unknown injuries.

Her passenger, a man from Pequot Lakes, was taken to a St. Cloud Hospital by North Memorial Air Care with serious injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office says alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
