(KNSI) – Minnesota reports 1,661 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 deaths on Thursday. The death count includes one person from Stearns County in their 70s and one person from Wright County in their 60s.

The five-county St. Cloud area confirms 169 new cases: Benton County 14, Morrison County nine, Sherburne County 51, Stearns County 47 and Wright County 48.

More than 38,000 COVID tests were processed Wednesday for a one-day test positivity rate of 4.3 percent. Around the state, 565 people are hospitalized for COVID-19.

Minnesota has now vaccinated more than 2.6 million people with at least one dose of the vaccine. Minnesotans who are vaccinated make up 47 percent of the state’s total population, and almost 78 percent of those who are vaccinated have completed the vaccine series, meaning they are fully vaccinated.
