(KNSI) – Minnesota is the fifth-best state in the country for working mothers, according to a report from Wallethub.
After Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, Connecticut and Vermont, Minnesota ranks fifth overall. The state grabs first place for overall child care quality, third for professional opportunities and 15th for work-life balance.
In other categories, Minnesota is fourth for women’s median salary, sixth for the smallest percentage of single-mother families in poverty, 9th for its daycare quality, 10th for the average length of womens’ work weeks and 12th for the number of pediatricians per capita. The state’s middle-of-the-road rankings include 21st for its ratio of female executives to male executives and 17th for its gender pay gap.
