(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports 1,877 new COVID-19 cases on Friday along with 16 deaths, including one person from Wright County who was in their 80s.
The five-county St. Cloud area confirms 217 new cases: Benton County 15, Morrison County 18, Sherburne County 55, Stearns County 60 and Wright County 69.
The state processed 40,988 COVID tests on Thursday for a one-day test positivity rate of 4.6 percent.
As for vaccinations, Minnesota is closing in on having 2 million residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Per the latest data, 2,533,459 Minnesotans have received at least one dose, and 1,893,516 people in that group have now received two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines or got the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Those who are fully vaccinated make up 34 percent of the state’s total population.
