(KNSI) – Families can take advantage of the nicer weather and get outside with the United Way of Central Minnesota, the St. Cloud Police Department, and the Great River Regional Library St. Cloud.
Inspired by the Imagination Library book, Llama Llama Red Pajama, there will be a free family-friendly scavenger hunt looking for llamas Thursday afternoon. From 5 to 7 p.m., parents and kids start their walk and scavenger hunt at the library and walk to the St. Cloud Police Department and over to the United Way office hunting for llamas, and along the way, meet police and firefighters at each spot for book readings.
Because the walk is around a mile, wagons, strollers, and bikes are welcomed for the little ones.
The real Llama Llama in his snazzy red pajamas will also be making the rounds.
Once the scavenger hunt sheets are returned, kids are entered to win prizes like books and bikes.
For those who want to take part in the scavenger hunt from home, starting at 5 p.m. on the United Way of Central Minnesota Facebook page, look for various videos, including live llamas, book readings, tours of the fire department, and more. There is also a Llama Llama Red Pajama pajama party.
The scavenger hunt is part of a week-long celebration. Learn more by clicking here.
