(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports 22 new deaths from COVID-19 and 1,514 newly confirmed cases on Wednesday.
The newly reported deaths Wednesday include one person from Stearns County and one person from Morrison County. Both were in their 70s.
Around the five-county St. Cloud area, there are 143 new cases: 15 in Benton County, 14 in Morrison County, 30 in Sherburne County, 38 in Stearns County and 46 in Wright County.
The state processed 24,496 COVID-19 tests Tuesday for a one-day positivity rate of 6.2 percent. Around Minnesota, 643 people are currently hospitalized for COVID.
Meanwhile, Minnesota is closing in on having 2.5 million people who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose. The state is also expected to deliver more doses this month than it did in March. More than 4 million doses have been delivered into the arms of Minnesotans since the first vaccines gained emergency use approval last December.
