Man Charged With Felony Domestic Assault After Allegedly Punching a Woman in the Eye

(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is under arrest and charged with domestic assault and drug possession after allegedly punching a woman Sunday.

Police responded to a call of a domestic assault in progress, and a woman told them Demar Leshay Burch had hit her in the eye.

According to a criminal complaint, when officers found Burch, they saw him throw a baggie with a “green leafy substance,” which tested positive for marijuana. The baggie allegedly weighed 53 grams.

Burch is charged with two counts of felony domestic assault and one count of felony drug possession. Bail was set at $75,000 without conditions or $25,000 with.

His next court date is set for May 6th.
