(KNSI) – Several weeks ago, Minnesota began opening semi-permanent, large-scale community COVID-19 vaccination sites to help get vaccines to school staff and childcare workers. As vaccine eligibility broadened, Minnesotans could sign up online to be put on a waitlist for an appointment. Now, residents can sign up for a vaccine appointment at these community vaccination sites directly. This includes appointments at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud.
Gov. Tim Walz announced the change Monday.
“To end this pandemic, we need as many Minnesotans vaccinated as possible, as quickly as possible,” Walz said. “To drive that goal, Minnesotans can now book appointments at our Community Vaccination locations directly and at their convenience. The sooner we get shots in arms, the sooner we can get back to the things we love and the people we miss. Hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans have been able to find their COVID-19 vaccine through the Vaccine Connector, and today, that is easier than ever.”
Appointments at the River’s Edge Convention Center and other community vaccination sites can be made online through the state’s Vaccine Connector webpage. The St. Cloud site continues to only offer vaccinations on Wednesday afternoons and evenings, according to the Vaccine Connector.
