(KNSI) – Minnesota reports 1,367 new cases of COVID-19 and three deaths on Tuesday. The death count includes one Stearns County resident and one Wright County resident who were both in their 60s.
Across the five-county area, there are 148 newly confirmed cases: 13 in Benton County, 13 in Morrison County, 32 in Sherburne County, 38 in Stearns County and 52 in Wright County.
Today’s positive cases were found from a lower-than-usual volume of 15,492 tests statewide. Positive results accounted for 8.8 percent of those tests processed Monday.
Meanwhile, 47.7 percent of Minnesota residents age 16 and older have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. As of Sunday, 2,102,859 Minnesotans have received at least one dose of the vaccine. More than 1,435,000 of those recipients have gotten either their second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The MDH estimates that 84.2 percent of Minnesota residents 65 and older have received at least one dose, as have 51.3 percent of people age 50-64.
