(KNSI) – There are 1,994 new COVID-19 cases reported by the Minnesota Department of Health on Monday, including 199 cases across the five-county St. Cloud area. The state also reports two new deaths from COVID-19.
Locally, Benton County sees 11 new cases, Morrison County 18, Sherburne County 51, Stearns County 55 and Wright County 64.
Out of the 24,001 COVID tests processed in Minnesota on Sunday, 8.3 percent returned positive results.
Johns Hopkins University researchers have found that Minnesota’s average number of daily new cases has increased by almost 47 percent in the last two weeks.
Vaccinations are also increasing. Per the MDH’s latest data, 2,084,627 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. More than 1,420,000 of those recipients — 68 percent — have also gotten their second dose or had received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
