(KNSI) – A new report shows the St. Cloud area has the most affordable apartment rentals per square foot in Minnesota.
The study by RENTCafe looked at how much space you can rent for $1,400 (close to the state’s average rent of $1,360) in 38 Minnesota cities with a large apartment stock.
The top three cities are in Central Minnesota.
St. Cloud was rated at number one with $1,400 able to rent a 1,446 square foot space.
The Granite City offers twice as much space for the same price when compared to Minneapolis.
Waite Park finished in second place with the same price renting a 1,402 sq. ft. apartment.
In third place, Sartell, where $1,400 will get you a 1,315 sq. ft. apartment.
At the state level, the cities with the least apartment space for $1,400 in Minnesota are Minneapolis (709), followed by Golden Valley (794) and Edina (830).
On average, Minnesotans can get 915 sq. ft. of living space for $1,400.
Overall, Minnesota apartments offer 10% more space for the same price.
