(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 1,550 new cases of COVID-19 across the state on Monday. There were also five newly reported deaths.

Around the five-county St. Cloud area, 182 people tested positive within the past day: 19 in Benton County, 15 in Morrison County, 46 in Sherburne County, 57 in Stearns County and 45 in Wright County.

Monday’s test positivity rate is 6.9 percent, which is above the state’s 5-percent caution threshold for community spread.

Meanwhile, more than 1.6 million Minnesotans have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s nearly 29 percent of the state population. Of those vaccine recipients, 990,854 are now covered by two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or with the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. More than 104,000 people in the St. Cloud area are now vaccinated.
