(KNSI) — A 91-year-old Sauk Rapids man is dead after a rollover crash Wednesday night.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they got a 911 call about 11:30 got a call about the crash on County Road 11 near Woodview Road in Millwood Township, just north of Freeport. A passerby saw headlights in a field and notified someone who went to check on the vehicle. They found an unresponsive man inside.
Deputies arrived on the scene and found a Chevy Silverado on its roof. Crash investigators say the truck left the road on a sharp curve and hit a field approach. They say the truck went airborne and landed on its roof.
The driver, identified as Donald Eugene Pflipsen, was extricated from the truck by Freeport Fire and Rescue, who immediately began lifesaving efforts. Pflipsen was taken to Melrose Hospital for treatment, but he died as a result of his injuries.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and Freeport Fire and Rescue were assisted at the scene by Melrose Ambulance Service.
