(KNSI) – Thursday, Minnesota reports 1,857 new COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths statewide. The death count includes one Stearns County resident who was in their 80s.
The five-county St. Cloud area adds 215 new cases: 18 in Benton County, 37 in Morrison County, 42 in Sherburne County, 64 in Stearns and 54 in Wright County.
Minnesota processed 40,859 COVID-19 tests Wednesday, and 4.5 percent of those tests came back positive.
Over the course of the pandemic, more than 8 million COVID-19 tests have been used in Minnesota, finding the state’s 510,398 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the state reports that 1,475,130 Minnesotans have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so far. An estimated 15.8 percent of the state’s population is now fully vaccinated against COVID. Minnesota has also now administered more doses during the month of March than it did in February, following a gradual increase in vaccine supply and larger allotments from the federal government.
