St. Cloud Hosting Second Mass Vaccination Clinic Wednesday

(KNSI) – A mass vaccination site in St. Cloud will be inoculating another 1,000 people on Wednesday.

The Moderna vaccine is being offered at the River’s Edge Convention Center on Wednesdays from noon to 8 p.m. Vaccinations are done by appointment only.

Jules’ Bistro Owner Donella Westphal was among the first to get vaccinated after the site opened last week and talked about her experience.

“The staff were incredibly friendly. The process was very smooth. It was painless, and it just was very efficient. There was social distancing in place. And it was really quick.”

Her appointment was right on time, and it took about 30 minutes to get through the vaccination site.

Westphal says she had no complications, and it’s a relief to know she’s got her first vaccine.

“My arm is a little stiff, a little sore. But for the most part, today is the day like any other, except, I’m feeling a little lighter emotionally and feeling like it’s a good day.”

She’s scheduled for her second shot in three weeks.

Westphal and a handful of her employees became eligible for the vaccine after Minnesota added another 1.8 million people to the eligibility list.

The expanded list includes people who work in foodservice.
