(KNSI) – Minnesota confirms 1,449 new cases of COVID-19 and nine deaths Friday. There are no new COVID-19 deaths reported in the five-county St. Cloud area, but 173 more people have tested positive.

The state processed 40,005 COVID-19 tests on Thursday, and 3.6 percent of those tests came back positive.
The latest data from the Minnesota Department of Health shows 316 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 in the state. Seventy-four of those patients are in the ICU.
As for vaccinations, MDH estimates that nearly one in four Minnesotans have gotten at least their first dose of the vaccine. With data reported as of Wednesday, 1,337,982 people have gotten at least one vaccine dose in Minnesota; they make up 24 percent of the population. About 59 percent of vaccine recipients are now fully vaccinated. The state also reports that 77.5 percent of Minnesotans 65 and older are now vaccinated.
