(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports 813 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 deaths statewide today. The death count includes one person from Sherburne County in their 70s.
In the five-county area, there are 66 new cases: 10 in Benton County, six in Morrison County, 12 in Sherburne County, 12 in Stearns County and 26 in Wright County.
The state processed more than 37,000 COVID-19 tests on Thursday for a one-day test positivity rate of 2.2 percent.
Currently, 224 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Minnesota’s hospitals. Fifty-seven of those patients are receiving intensive care.
The number of Minnesotans fully vaccinated against COVID-19 now outnumbers the number of Minnesotans who have had confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. The state health department reports that more than 516,000 people have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a few days, the state will have vaccinated 1 million people with at least one dose. Right now, a total of 975,781 people have gotten at least one shot, representing 17.5 percent of the state’s population. As of Wednesday, nearly 67,000 people in the St. Cloud area have been vaccinated for COVID-19.
