(KNSI) – The search for a new Sartell-St. Stephen ISD 748 superintendent continues Wednesday evening as the school board will pare down the field of candidates from six to two or three. Those finalists will be interviewed by staff, students and community members next week as the school board gets closer to its decision.

In December, Superintendent Jeff Schwiebert announced he will retire this summer.

One candidate is the district’s current assistant superintendent, Kay Nelson.

Here are the other finalists:

  • Janell Bullard, executive director of the Meeker and Wright Special Education Coop
  • Keven Enerson, Pipestone Area Schools superintendent
  • Greg Johnson, Albany Area Schools superintendent
  • Dr. Jeffery Ridlehoover, Mounds View Public Schools assistant superintendent
  • Dr. Kristine Wehrkamp, Robbinsdale Area Schools executive director of community education
