(KNSI) – The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says a second man is under arrest in connection to a fatal shooting Friday night.
Hutchinson police and the Crow River SWAT Team arrested a 23-year-old man just before 10:00 Monday night at a home in Hutchinson. He is awaiting charges of second-degree murder and second-degree assault. Investigators believe the man they arrested was the one responsible for shooting and killing 42-year-old Devon Remmel.
Police were called to a home in Acton Township at about 10:45 p.m. for a man who had been shot. When they arrived, they saw Remmel outside the home and attempted first aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument.
23-year-old Byron Jackson was arrested Sunday night in Hutchinson. He has been charged with one count of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault.
