General Mills Announces Neighborhood to Nation People’s Choice Winner

(KNSI) – General Mills has announced the winner of its 2020 Neighborhood to Nation Recipe Contest People’s Choice Award.

Two central Minnesota restaurants – Coyote Moon Grille in St. Cloud and Madigan’s Pub and Grill in Maple Lake – were both in the running. Ultimately, the Corner Cafe in Orange, Massachusetts won the additional $5,000 prize, which was a donation to a local food bank charity.

Coyote Moon Chef Adam Meyer’s Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich with Raspberry Chipotle Sauce and Madigan’s Chef Chris Nelson’s Ragin’ Cajun Pizza were both in the running. Each of them won $5,000 and help to market the restaurant.

For the 2020 contest, General Mills chose 20 winners instead of the ten they normally choose. The contest celebrates independent restaurants and food trucks for their one-of-a-kind dishes and independent restaurants’ role in local communities.
