(KNSI) – A 35-year-old St. Cloud man was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly hit two squad cars on Highway 10 in Becker.
According to police, officers with the Becker Police Department were in the left lane conducting a traffic stop on Highway 10 at Sherburne Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. They say two were in one squad car, and two others were standing outside another when they saw a vehicle going west on 10. They say the driver sideswiped both cars. No officers were hurt.
Police then pursued the vehicle and stopped it at Highway 10 and Bradley Boulevard.
The driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on suspicion of second-degree DUI, leaving the scene of a crash, open bottle, and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle. A press release from the Becker Police Department says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely.
A search of court records shows a lengthy record consisting of several previous traffic violations, including DWI.
