(KNSI) – Youth softball programs in Central Minnesota can now apply for a grant to get new equipment.
The St. Cloud Rox is awarding one equipment grant later this year worth $2,000 to a non-profit, school or community-based youth softball team that serves kids ages 9 through 12 through its “Share the Glove” Youth Equipment Grant Program.
The grant-earning softball team will get a set of catcher’s gear, eight helmets, 10 gloves, six bats and a bucket of softballs to use.
The grant is part of a larger effort by the Northwoods League Foundation, which will give equipment to 11 youth baseball and 11 youth softball teams in total this year.
Grant applications are due by April 30th. Winners will be notified in late May.
