(KNSI) – Stearns County Recording Services has launched a free, online service that helps property owners avoid property fraud.
The website, Land Notification, lets property owners receive alerts based on their name, business name or parcel ID so that they can monitor any activity. Though the county says it has not yet seen an instance of fraud, the potential for someone to illegally use a property owner’s name exists.
Stearns County says a Google or Yahoo email account is required to sign up for the service.
