(KNSI) – A garage is a total loss after a fire in Lake Henry Township on Sunday.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to the fire in the 33000 block of 220th Street at 3:30 p.m. The Lake Henry Fire Department and Paynesville Ambulance also made their way to the scene, and the fire department quickly extinguished the fire that had fully engulfed a detached double garage.
The homeowner was not home when the fire started, authorities say. A relative who lives near that property noticed the smoke, saw that the garage was fully engulfed in flames and then contacted the property owner.
Authorities determined that a wood stove in the garage started the fire, damaging or destroying the building’s contents, including a truck. The sheriff’s office’s report does not include any injuries.
