(KNSI) – St. Cloud Hospital is one of the nation’s 100 best hospitals in 2021, according to Healthgrades.
In addition to earning the America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award, St. Cloud Hospital is also recognized for its cardiac care; it has earned the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care Award, the Cardiac Surgery Excellence Award and the Coronary Intervention Excellence Award from Healthgrades in 2021.
Kay Greenlee, CentraCare vice president for performance excellence, says the hospital’s score for cardiac care is high because it has a strong team in that department.
“It’s a team that is committed to doing the best for the patients they serve,” Greenlee said. “And, it’s a team that is willing to be an early adopter of new practices and really help, in my opinion, to set best practices that others want to emulate.”
St. Cloud Hospital also earns the 2021 Joint Replacement Excellence Award from Healthgrades.
Greenlee says there are multiple guiding principles for staff at St. Cloud Hospital and other CentraCare facilities, but they come down to a central focus: health means everything.
“We want to ensure we are contributing to the community, the health of our community, we want our patients to have the best possible experience, regardless of the setting that we are meeting with them [and] we want to make our contribution to reducing cost of care,” Greenlee said.
As a three-decade CentraCare employee and registered nurse, Greenlee said there’s a top-to-bottom sense of accountability at these clinics and hospitals.
“That accountability starts with me in an executive level position, and it continues throughout the organization so that the individuals at the front end, those that are doing and supporting the care, understand the roles that they play in delivering that high-quality care,” Greenlee said.
