(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports 1,058 new COVID-19 cases and 19 deaths Friday. Fifteen of those deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities, and the death count includes one person from Sherburne County and one person from Wright County, both in their 80s.
There are 59 new cases of COVID-19 in the St. Cloud area: seven in Benton County, one in Morrison County, 10 in Sherburne, 19 in Stearns County and 22 in Wright.
Friday’s test results come from 43,554 tests processed statewide Thursday. Only 2.4 percent of those tests turned up positive.
Minnesota’s latest hospital statistics show that 326 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19, with 73 of those patients receiving intensive care.
The state has now vaccinated an estimated 11 percent of its population with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. As of Wednesday, the state has administered doses to 617,896 people. Within that group, 189,902 have gotten their second dose.
