(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department says there is no ongoing danger in the 3700 block of West St. Germain Street in St. Cloud after authorities searched a man’s apartment, vehicle and garage Wednesday.

SCPD, with the help of the Minneapolis Police Department Bomb Squad, reports that the searched areas did not contain any devices.

This case involving a man who was detained by police for suspicious activity remains under investigation. Criminal charges could be forthcoming, police say.

Just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, SCPD says its SWAT team detained a man outside of that apartment complex. He had been making statements that “could pose a risk to public safety and to his own welfare,” a report reads. SCPD says the bomb squad was called in to make the sweep as a precautionary measure. The building was not evacuated.

After being detained Wednesday, the man was taken to St. Cloud Hospital. An updated report Thursday says he is still at the hospital.
