35 New COVID-19 Cases Identified in St. Cloud Area Wednesday

(KNSI) – Minnesota reports 677 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths Wednesday. No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in the St. Cloud area.

Benton County adds three new cases, Morrison County one, Sherburne County eight, Stearns County 13 and Wright County 10.

Minnesota processed more than 20,000 COVID-19 tests yesterday, and 3.3 percent returned positive results.

As for vaccinations, roughly 3 percent of Minnesota’s population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Per data as recent as Monday, 583,602 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That group represents 10.5 percent of the state’s population. About 29 percent of vaccine recipients — 168,495 people — have gotten a second dose.

The Minnesota Department of Health estimates that 28 percent of Minnesotans age 65 and older have started receiving their COVID-19 vaccine series.
