(KNSI) – Officials with St. Cloud Area School District 742 say their students in secondary school will be returning to full-time in-person learning early next month.

The St. Cloud School Board decided at a meeting Wednesday night and came up with a tentative plan for students in grades six through 12 to go back to the classroom for the third trimester.

After the second trimester ends later this month, students will have the entire first week of March off for break, and staff will begin transitioning and preparation on March 8th and 9th. Students are tentatively set to return on March 10th. This is the first time students will be back in the classroom full time since last March when Governor Tim Walz ordered all schools to close and go to full-time distance learning.

No changes are expected for students in preschool, elementary school, or alternative special education programs. Those students returned to in-person learning Wednesday.

Superintendent Willie Jett will give an update on the plan at the next School Board Meeting on February 17th.
