(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department says they have arrested three men in connection to a shooting Wednesday night.
Police say just before midnight; they spotted a vehicle they believed to be involved in the incident that happened about 6:30 p.m. at 25th Avenue South and 1st Street South. Officers performed a felony traffic stop in the 200 block of 31st Avenue North. Inside that vehicle, investigators say, there were three people, including the suspect and an accomplice, arrested without incident. They say a 17-year-old from California was in the car, and he was allegedly carrying a handgun.
All three were booked into the Stearns County jail. Two men from St. Cloud, a 21-year-old and a 26-year-old, are facing charges stemming from the shooting. The 17-year-old is being held on a weapons violation and will be taken to a juvenile detention facility.
The investigation is still ongoing.
KNSI does not typically name suspects until they have been formally charged.
