(KNSI) – The state of Minnesota reports 633 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths Tuesday.
None of the reported deaths occurred in the St. Cloud area.
Benton County adds nine new cases, Morrison County four, Sherburne County 16, Stearns County 13 and Wright County 24.
The state processed a relatively low amount of tests yesterday — 10,221 — for a one-day test positivity rate of 6.2 percent.
Across Minnesota, there are now 387 people hospitalized for COVID-19, with 92 of those patients receiving intensive care.
For COVID-19 vaccinations, the state is coming closer to a significant milestone: 10 percent of Minnesotans vaccinated with at least one dose. Right now, 447,610 people (or 8.1 percent of the state’s population) have received at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Of that number, 116,928 people have received both doses. They represent 2.1 percent of the population.
The Minnesota Department of Health estimates that 19.5 percent of Minnesotans 65 and older are now covered by at least one dose of the vaccine: in that age group, 161,586 people have been vaccinated.
