(KNSI) – The Pioneer Place on 5th is playing host to a virtual fundraiser that helps kids going into foster care.
Local favorites Radio Nation will be performing from the stage at Pioneer Place and beaming right into your living room to help out Sartell-based Pockets of Hope.
When kids leave their homes, a lot of times, they don’t have any personal items. They don’t have anything to call their own. Pockets of Hope creates backpacks full of items that are age-appropriate for them that they get to call their own. Radio Nation’s Dave Lumley says the backpacks “give them a little comfort when they’re when they’re that scary situation.”
Lumley says he has a long time friend who was involved in it, and it was on his radar, so when he was thinking about doing a charity concert, another friend reminded him about Pockets of Hope, and he jumped at the chance to help out.
Donations can be made in advance directly to the Pockets of Hope organization by clicking here.
The show starts at 7 p.m. and will be live streamed on YouTube by clicking here and on Facebook by clicking here.
All money raised will be used to provide backpacks for foster children in need.
