(KNSI) – A driver was sent to the hospital after crashing into a granite sign outside of Cold Spring Wednesday afternoon.
The Minnesota State Patrol says that around 2 p.m., a 67-year-old man from New London was driving his Ram pickup truck westbound on Highway 23 near Cold Spring when he fell asleep. The driver then crashed into a granite “Welcome to Cold Spring” sign.
The driver was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The state patrol says alcohol was not involved, and the driver was wearing his seatbelt.
