(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 1,292 new COVID-19 cases and 32 new deaths Thursday.

The death count includes one Benton County resident, one Sherburne County resident, and two people from Wright County. Their ages ranged from their 70s to their 90s. Roughly half of Thursday’s reported deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities, and one fatality occurred in a Minnesota jail or prison.

Across the five-county area, there are 99 new cases: Benton County five, Morrison County 8, Sherburne County 17, Stearns County 38 and Wright County 31.

The state processed 41,333 tests on Wednesday, and 3.1 percent came back positive, a value below the state’s test positivity caution threshold of 5 percent.

Today, there are fewer than 100 people receiving ICU care for COVID-19. Overall, there are 558 people in Minnesota hospitals for COVID-19.
